Walk & Bike to School Day is October 10

Many Wilson families already enjoy the benefits of walking or biking to school:

  • Kids arrive alert and ready to learn.
  • Families build healthy habits together and practice everyday skills like reading street signs and discerning when to cross safely.
  • Families can skip the carpool queue.
On Wednesday, October 10, join kids and adults around the world to celebrate the benefits of walking and bicycling. Can you help? Between 7:45 and 8:20 am, we’ll greet people who walk or bike in front of the school with stickers and fresh fruit. Please sign up to help as a greeter or bring a healthy snack to share:

Live too far away to walk? Park your car at a nearby nonprofit partner and walk 3‑5 blocks to school with your kid(s). See the map in your Thursday folder for locations.

Mark your calendars for the Annual Gala on April 6, 2019!

This party promises to be a great time! It will also give you the opportunity to meet fellow parents while supporting Wilson. Each couple that plans to attend, should bring a bottle of wine valued at $50 or more to donate to the raffle. The wine donated at this event will be used for the “Wine Cellar” raffle prize.  Please download flyer for details on how to RSVP.

Wilson PTO is partnering with the Houston Wine Merchant, as they have generously agreed to offer a 15% discount on all wines purchased as a donation for Wilson’s “Wine Cellar” raffle prize.  When you visit the Houston Wine Merchant at 2646 S. Shepherd Drive, let them know that you are purchasing a bottle of wine to donate to Wilson in order to receive the 15% discount.  Only bottles purchased to donate are discounted.  After purchasing the wine, you may leave the bottle with the Houston Wine Merchant, and it will be picked up by PTO prior to the party.  No time?  Call them to place an order over the phone at 713-524-3397. Wine does not need to be purchased from Houston Wine Merchant in order to attend the wine party.
